We were looking to support a local cause and Austin'sstory touched our hearts
Austin's story.........................
For those who dont know him, Austin Smith is a loving, funny, happy, energetic 13 year old boy. He is the eldest son of Riley and Jessica Smith and brother to Morgan. They are a much loved family with a huge support system of friends who all want to help in so many ways which is why we decided to create this fund!!

It is fair to say that we are all still in shock after hearing the news only a few weeks ago that Austin has Cancer. He was complaining of terrible pain in his leg which prompted Jess to take him to the hospital for scans only to discover that it was Osteosarcoma, bone cancer, and after having further scans they too have revealed signs of cancer in his lungs
The support has been so overwhelming and truely humbling and the fact that so many people want to donate to help with the tough journey ahead is astounding to us all!!
Austin will start his Chemotherapy on Monday 1st May at Leeds LGI which will hopefully shrink the tumor in his leg, this therapy could take up to 6 months after which he will have an operation to remove and replace the bone in his leg which will be done in Birmingham, this will be followed by further intensive treatment and recovery
We have no idea how long or hard the treatments will be as this is all new ground for us but we know that with all his fantastic friends behind him and the family - they wont be alone
Austin is our nephew and we know that his parents would always find it very difficult to be willing to accept donations as they have always been the ones to help others but we know that many will understand and agree that the impact finacially can be a huge burden, especially as the family are self employed and any amount that can ease that worry will be gratefully received. We anticipate lots of travel to and from various hospitals, various specialist equipment for Austin and time taken from Rileys ability to work will all be the main areas in need of financial help
We cannot say thankyou enough to all our much loved friends and family and to anyone else who takes the time to read Austins story, we really appreciate you all and will keep you updated....
