We at Green Top aim for our children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the nursery. We want them to feel comfortable and form strong bonds with all staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both, their children's well being and their role as active parents.
We work to support parents and other carers help their children to settle in quickly and easily by giving consideration to the individual needs and circumstances of each child and their families.
The nursery staff will work in close partnership with parents to settle their child into nursery.
We will first arrange a 'show around' at which point parents and children attend and are given a guided tour of the nursery by a member of the management team. All introductory paperwork and price information will be given at this meeting with all questions answered and reassurance given to parents what may feel anxious
The next stage is your child's first visit. When your child arrives at nursery it is optional for parents to stay or not. Every child Is different and parents know their children better than anyone else and how they will cope with new surroundings on there first experience with us. You will be given an 'all about me' document to complete for your child, which will then be passed on to their key worker who will then use this information to better understand your child and plan for their interests. Transition into nursery can vary depending on each individual child. We will ensure your child has enough visits to be able to settle in easily. Once your child is ready to start with us we will ask you to complete a baseline with your child's key worker. This will allow us to have a good understanding of where your child is at in terms of development. Your knowledge and our knowledge collected based on visits will help us create a strong baseline for us to work from.
