2-3 Room

Our 2-3 room Leader is Kirsty. Kirsty is qualified to level 3 in childcare and has 17 years childcare experience and joined our team in July 2005. Working alongside Kirsty is Lianne who is also qualified to level 3 with 14 years experience in childcare.

Our Cubs room accommodates up to 23 2-3 year olds. In this room we have an ICT area, mark making areas, small world and construction area, a home corner, sand and water areas, tables for table top activities and meal times, heuristic area, changeable everyday role play area (such as hairdressers, post office travel agents etc), music area and circle time/sleeping area.

This room has direct access to its own play ground which is a grassed area with a separate sensory garden and also has use of a large outdoor play area at the back of the building which is set up as an outdoor class room to promote a range of age appropriate skills. It also has direct access to a changing facility which includes a raised changing station with fully equipped PPE cupboards and easily accessible named baskets containing each child’s individual belongings.

There are also potties and child friendly toilets and sinks to encourage self help skills such as good hygiene (hand washing before meals and after toileting) and potty training. We stick to government set ratios of 1 adult to 4 children so staff members are deployed to this room as and when needed dependent on occupancy levels. A strong key group system is in place with great parent partnership. We offer 15 hours free nursery education funding in this room to all eligible 2-3 year old children.
